What Is an Eyebrow Transplant?
An eyebrow transplant moves your own healthy follicles into the brows to permanently restore eyebrows that have thinned, gone patchy, or never grew back. Once they take, the new hairs grow like the rest of your brow.
Because the transplanted follicles are your own, the result is permanent. That means no more drawing your brows on each morning, and no more repeat appointments to keep semi-permanent makeup looking fresh.
How an Eyebrow Hair Transplant Works (FUE)
Suitable follicles are harvested from a donor area and implanted into your brows. Each follicle is placed carefully, precisely positioned and angled to blend with your natural eyebrow hair pattern.
This is where the artistry lives. Eyebrows are almost entirely single-hair follicles that grow in specific directions, the inner hairs sweeping up, the outer hairs lying flat and out, so every graft has to be angled to follow that natural flow. Getting that right is the difference between brows that look real and brows that do not. FUE for the brows is the same technique we cover in depth on our Manual FUE page.
The Benefits of an FUE Eyebrow Transplant
Because FUE does not require long incisions, it offers real advantages for the brows:
Minimal Scarring
Follicles are removed without long incisions, leaving only tiny marks at the donor and brow.
Fast Recovery
Healing is quick and there is no real downtime, so the days right after stay easy.
Back to Routine
Most people return to their normal daily activity almost right away, with little interruption.
Comfortable Procedure
Any discomfort afterward is typically minimal, and easily managed if it appears at all.
Single-Day Procedure
The whole eyebrow transplant is completed in a single day, from start to finish.
Natural-Looking Results
Each follicle is placed to match your brow's natural angle and direction, so the outcome looks like your own hair.
Causes of Eyebrow Thinning and Loss
Eyebrows lose their fullness for many reasons, and most are no fault of your own. Whatever the cause, you do not have to accept thin, patchy brows.
Eyebrow Transplant vs. Microblading
If you have been weighing your options, this is usually the choice: an eyebrow transplant or microblading. Both can give you fuller-looking brows, but they are very different.
Eyebrow Transplant
An eyebrow transplant is your own living hair. It grows, has real texture and dimension, and it is permanent. There is no fading and no schedule of touch-ups.
Microblading
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo. It deposits pigment in the skin to mimic the look of brow hairs, and it typically fades over one to three years and needs regular touch-ups to maintain.
If you want a low-commitment cosmetic option, microblading may suit you. If you want permanent, real brow hair that you never have to redraw, a transplant is the answer.
Where the Donor Hair Comes From
The follicles for your brows are typically taken from above your ears, because that hair most closely matches the fine texture of natural eyebrow hair.
One thing worth knowing: because the donor hair comes from your scalp, your new brow hairs grow the way scalp hair does. You will trim them now and then to keep them at brow length, a small trade for permanent, natural brows.
Eyebrow Transplant Recovery and Results
An eyebrow transplant is a quick, comfortable procedure, but the results reveal themselves gradually over the months that follow. Here is what to expect at each stage, from the day of your appointment through to your fully grown brows.
About five hours
Takes about five hours and is completed in a single day, under local anesthesia, with minimal downtime.
A normal shed
The transplanted brow hairs typically shed within a few weeks. This is normal and expected, part of the process as the follicles settle into their new home.
Fuller over 6 to 12 months
New growth begins after a few months, with fuller results filling in over roughly six to twelve months. Once established, your brows are permanent and styled like the rest of your face, with the occasional trim.
Tailored to your plan
An eyebrow transplant uses far fewer grafts than a scalp or beard procedure, typically a few hundred, and your cost depends on how many your brows need. We review all of it transparently at your consultation, with no surprises.
To make treatment accessible, we offer financing through Cherry and CareCredit, so you can move forward on a timeline that works for you.
