What It Is

What Is a Beard Transplant?

A beard transplant takes healthy follicles from your own scalp and places them into your beard to fill blank or patchy spots. Beards lose volume, or never fill in, for several reasons: age, genetics, an accident, or a disease.

Because the transplanted follicles are your own, your body accepts them permanently. Once they grow in, your new beard hair behaves like the rest of your facial hair, so you can trim, shave, and style it normally.

Real Patients, Real Stories

The procedure

How a Beard Hair Transplant Works (FUE)

We use the FUE technique to restore facial hair. Individual follicles are harvested one at a time and placed into the beard, with no long incisions and no linear scar.

The natural result comes down to artistry. The surgeon selects the right grafts and places each one at the correct angle and direction to match the way beard hair naturally grows, so the finished beard looks like it was always yours. FUE is the same method we cover in depth on our Manual FUE page.

Why FUE

The Benefits of an FUE Beard Transplant

Because FUE does not require long incisions, it offers real advantages for facial hair:

Minimal Scarring

The follicle-by-follicle technique leaves no linear scar in either the donor or recipient area, keeping both regions clean and discreet.

Fast Healing

With no large incisions to close, the treated areas recover quickly and the small extraction points fade within days.

Rapid Return to Activity

Most patients resume their normal daily routine almost immediately, with little interruption to work or social life.

Minimal Discomfort

The procedure is typically well tolerated, and any soreness afterward tends to be mild and short-lived.

Natural-Looking Density

Your surgeon can select the ideal mix of single-hair grafts and multi-follicular units, balancing fullness with a soft, natural-looking edge.

Permanent, Lasting Results

Transplanted follicles are taken from areas resistant to thinning, so once they take hold the new beard continues to grow for years to come.

Every area

Beard, Mustache, Sideburns, and Goatee

A facial hair transplant can restore far more than the cheeks and jawline. We treat the full beard, the mustache, the sideburns, and the goatee, shaping and densifying each area to match what you are going for.

01

Full beard

Cheeks and jawline, shaped and densified

02

Mustache

Fills in a thin or patchy mustache

03

Sideburns

Defined and thickened

04

Goatee

Defined and thickened

A mustache transplant fills in a thin or patchy mustache, while sideburn and goatee work defines and thickens those areas. The technique is the same FUE approach, tailored to the look you want.

Donor hair

Where the Donor Hair Comes From

The follicles for your beard are taken from the back and sides of your head, where hair is thickest and keeps growing the longest. This is the same donor area we use for scalp hair transplants.

Because that hair is genetically programmed to keep growing for life, the beard hair we transplant is permanent.

What it solves

Filling Patchy Spots and Covering Scars

Patchy or thin beard

The most common reason men come to us is a patchy or thin beard, whether from genetics or age. A beard transplant fills those gaps so the beard reads as even and full, instead of spotty.

Covering scars

It can also cover facial scars from an injury or a previous surgery. Transplanted follicles grow through and disguise the scarred area, restoring beard where it would not grow on its own.

What To Expect

Beard Transplant Recovery and Results

Getting a beard transplant is a straightforward, well-tolerated procedure, but knowing what the days and months afterward look like helps you plan with confidence. Here is how the experience typically unfolds, from the day of your appointment through to your fully grown results.

01
The procedure

About five hours

Typically takes about five hours, depending on how many grafts your beard needs, and is done under local anesthesia.

02
Right after

No shaving for 7 to 10 days

Some shedding of the newly transplanted beard hair is normal as the skin heals. We ask that you not shave for 7 to 10 days after the procedure.

03
The timeline

Noticeable by six months

Your beard begins growing within a few weeks, and by six months there is a noticeable difference in growth and volume. The result continues to fill in over the following months, and once it is grown you can shave and style it like any beard.

Real Results

Results That Speak for Themselves

Every beard is different, but the goal is always the same: dense, natural-looking coverage that blends seamlessly with your existing facial hair. Our work focuses on the details that matter, like the right graft placement, a natural growth direction, and a soft, believable edge, so the results look like they were always yours.
